History of Ladoke Akintola University
This public institution was established on 23rd April 1990 and began the first academic session on 19th October 1990, with four hundred and thirty-six students offered admission to four major faculties. The faculties were;
- Agricultural sciences
- Environmental Sciences
- Engineering and technology
- The pure and applied sciences
Later, in October 1991, The College of Health Sciences was established with thirty (30) students.

The School’s change of name
Due to the origination of Osun State from the old Oyo State, the university’s name was changed from Oyo State University of Technology to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. Osun State and Oyo State jointly owned LAUTECH until November 2020. During this time, the university was properly amended and has since expanded and now offers degree programs in various courses of study.

This university runs three academic programs, which are; the pre-degree, the undergraduate, and postgraduate programs. Also, the school has a program called Open Distance Learning.

- The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) score set by the university for any course of study chosen by an applicant, i.e. lautech cutoff mark.
- An O’level result (West African Examination Council WAEC or National Examination Council NECO) with at least six credits, particularly in mathematics and English.

3. Amazing Restaurant: The yam, eggs, and hot puff-puff makes this place as amazing as its name. Once you hear students say, “Amazing puff-puff”, the day is about to get interesting. It is located right beside GTbank.
For lovers of beans and bread, there is a small bean and bread spot right beside the SUB building. It is the only place that sells beans inside the school.

The Olusegun Oke Library in LAUTECH
It is common knowledge that a library is the powerhouse of any institution, so it is for LAUTECH as a university. Surprisingly, students do not realize there is more to a library than just a reading room. The Olusegun Oke Library is a better place to extend and build on the knowledge acquired in lecture theaters, and it offers;

To use the Olusegun Oke Library, there are certain rules and regulations students need to abide by. These rules are numerous, but, the paramount one is to have your library ID card. Without it, students cannot access the library. Another important rule is to dress decently to the library, as the library does not tolerate improper outfits. Also, eating, drinking, and phone calls are not allowed.
